Even under the most restrictive systems it is up to individuals to renegotiate the rules. I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness (no birthdays or Christmas) and my mom would surprise my sisters and I with gifts on our beds on what I termed Random Tuesdays in April. Usually it was special pencils/erasers or a placemat that she had laminated from one of the JW publications showing a dreamy paradise. We were crazy poor. I love that she did that for us. Our house was always full of kids and parties because she knew how important it was for us to not feel like we were missing out.
I gave away 40 pieces of new work wrapped for the taking in the Bronco Gallery . . . because there is always a reason to celebrate
Thanks Mom!

Random Tuesday in April is a framework for me create two-dimensional pieces and become more comfortable painting/drawing. Below are images of how the works progressed.
